Good morning; we are going to get into the 84th day of reading the bible. We're almost done so it will be just that quick before we are done with this great feat. Grace and peace to you from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 1
1Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul's customary greeting.
Paul let's the Thessalonians know that they are probably having much affliction in following the word as Paul and the Jews who believed on Christ have from their own people the Jews. But we are to hold strong to our faith in Jesus who has come to deliver us from wrath that's coming.
1 Thessalonians 2
1 Thessalonians 4
Paul warns us and the Thessalonians of committing adultery, in defrauding any man's business. It goes sore to the Lord to do this to your fellow man (v1-8). We are to constantly showing brotherly love; this is why I don't understand people shooting each other down in the street; wars upon wars, and all Jesus told us to do was love God, and love your fellow man. We already know that if we cannot love our fellow man who we see everyday; how is it possible that you can love a God whom you've never seen?
The Rapture
13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Paul cases that we should not be ignorant concerning people who have died in the faith, and we sorrow for them as if they have no hope. We are suppose to know that Jesus died and rose again, so those that died in Jesus, will God bring with Him when He returns.
15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
By the word of the Lord Paul writes this; that the people living at the time the Lord returns will not stop or go before those who are dead; the reason why is because the Lord will come down from the third heaven, which is beyond even the stars, and come down to the second heaven, which is above the clouds and space. He will come down with a shout, and at the sound of the 7th trumpet, the dead in Christ will rise to meet Him first. Where? In the clouds. This is where people claim a rapture. I have yet to see the word rapture. The word itself has evolved into something such as being taken up; but the first definition read as this: ecstatic joy or delight; joyful ecstasy. You'll have to put it together yourself.
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Then after the dead have rose and met the Lord in the air, then the people who are still living at His return will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and Paul says to forever be with the Lord. We have already established that the Lord will be in the air; meet His saints, then come down to the earth on Mt. Zion prepared for battle. So they will forever be with Him in Jerusalem when it's all said and done. When someone is mourning greatly regarding the death of a loved one; we are to comfort them with these scriptures; especially if they were one of the Lord's.
1 Thessalonians 5
2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. It will come as a thief in the night to those who are not aware of it but the Lord has given clear signs and clues to watch for and then we are to pray as He said so we can see the signs and be delivered. If you do not; certain things will happen and you will just think it is news on CNN; but they are catastrophic prophecies being fulfilled bringing the Lord back faster than we know.
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
17Pray without ceasing.
We are to stay sober and be children of light so we can see the coming of the Lord clearly as He has foretold us.
21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. How do you prove that the dead are not in heaven? You can do what the crooked people at this Chicago land funeral home did in digging up graves and reselling them for filthy lucre sake; there you will see the remains and know that from dust thou art and to dust thou shalt return. Or you can just read it in the scripture and leave all the hard work alone. How do I prove all things? I have to read it from documented sources from two or three witnesses; if the history book is good enough for you; then the bible being a history book should be good enough for you.
2 Thessalonians 1
1Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Either Paul had a minor or major conflict with God the Holy Ghost or he just plain did not believe the trinity existed.
Anyhow; Paul says it is a righteous thing that God will repay evil to all who trouble His saints; so we should rest knowing that the Lord Jesus Christ will be revealed in heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire. Remember in Isaiah 66; it read like this minus the name of Jesus; now we are informed who Isaiah spoke about. Jesus will be taking vengeance on the people of the earth that do not know of God and those who did not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ. Stiff everlasting punishments will be given to those who disobeyed and rewards to them who kept the faith (v6-10).
2 Thessalonians 2
Now concerning the coming of the Lord, Paul tells us not to be worried or troubled by anything or anyone that the day of Christ is at hand. That day certainly wasn't at hand in Paul's day and it is close but not immediate in our day, today, because many things must happen first before the Lord can or will return.
First there must be a falling away from the word of God. People not reading the bible; then because of this lies creep in, then after the lies, understanding, true understanding of the scripture falls to the streets, a man of sin will be revealed, this man is the son of destruction. Satan is the destroyer; so this man is Satan's son (v1-3).
4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
This man of sin opposes everything pertaining to God; he exalts himself about God, and he is even going to sit in the temple of God showing himself to be God. Jesus warned us about him in Matthew 24 verse 15, and Daniel gave us a pretty good description of this guy. And we see here that Paul knew about him as well; did you or do you?
9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
He was just starting to formate in the days of Paul; but now he has a respected thriving organization and soon he will take office and use powers from Satan to lie and destroy.
So we haven't seen this guy set up as of yet; so we know that the time of Christ return is not set up yet. Because if he will sit in the temple of God; there must be a temple built first! We are not speaking of any old temple; God deals in Jerusalem.
2 Thessalonians 3
1Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you
13But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
Paul's final warnings tells us not to get tired of doing well. The only other options is to do evil; and we know the results of that.
1 Timothy 1
2Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
Paul does his customary greeting and proceeds to warn us against false teachers who teach that we must keep the animal sacrifice and other extreme laws as well.
1 Timothy 2
1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Paul taught everything and he even instructed on how to worship. We all need to be constantly giving praise and thanks to God for His goodness.
Jesus Christ is the mediator between the Father and man. We must speak to Jesus Christ to speak and pray to the Father. 5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Jesus said He is the door and by Him anyone can enter in and be save; but no one can go directly to the Father. The Father only listens to Jesus Christ.
Women Not to Teach
11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Everyone loves Paul until he speaks things they don't like. Every woman and woman preacher in the world can read here why Paul extracts women from teaching the gospel in the capacity of her own church. The reason is because she was deceived; but she is saved in childbearing. The woman has a period of days where she is unclean; so how can she teach?
We read through the book so far and did not see any female priest. We saw prophets; but not priest. God set up the priesthood and we know that God was Jesus; so if anyone wants to say anyone is sexist, it is Jesus who is. But Paul tells us the reason for it; Eve was deceived. She genuinely was tricked; so being the weaker vessel the Lord did not set her up to teach over a man; but a woman can teach in the streets, help another with understanding; she just isn't to suffer Paul nor the Lord to teach over a man.
1 Timothy 3
1This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
If a man wants an office of a bishop or pastor; it is a good and honorable job; but come in correct and qualified for the position. Apt to teach; you have to be knowledgeable of what you are teaching. Be sober and able to run your own house before you attempt to rule over the Lord's house.
1 Timothy 4
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
Here goes our dietary law again. Paul okay's it this time. We thought Peter did last time but found that the vision was about men and not animal. So let us investigate what Paul has written here. In the last days many will leave the faith and go to seducing spirits with doctrines of the devil. We are in the last days so there is much seducing and doctrine of devils floating around.
2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
The doctrine is so bad and hypocritical; it is as if their conscience has been iron right out of their brain.
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
They will teach things like forbidding to marry; and command to abstain from meats. Okay, the bible only tells us to avoid certain meats; but not to abstain from meats. There is an organization out there that tells the men and women who want to work in the church that they should not marry and have sex, in order to be parishes in the church. Then a time of year comes around that rhymes with "tent" this same organization says abstain from eating meat during that time until Easter.
The context of what Paul is writing is speaking how a doctrine will come in during the latter times. A seducing spirit and devils doctrine has to be brought in and differ from the doctrine that Paul taught, which is of the bible. The bible just told us a bishop can marry one wife and the bible also told us we can eat meats sanctified for us. So based on this; the dietary law is still enforced.
4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. Sanctified means set apart; and the cow, goat, lamb, etc were set apart for us by the word of God to eat, and the pig, rabbit, catfish, shrimp, and oyster was set apart for us by the word of God not to eat.
In all we just need to stay focused on the word of God and Christ teaching so we do not go in the path of unrighteousness.
1 Timothy 5
1Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
2The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. Here we have some common sense things in treating each other well.
Men have to take care of their families first and foremost; if they do not care for their own wife and kids; they are worse than a nonbeliever and have denied the faith.
8But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
At times we see men who are nicer to the outside world than they are to their family. The provide for others more than their own. This is hypocrisy and is worse than not believing at all.
22Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.
23Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
Do not take part in another man's sins. A man comes and ask you if it is okay for him to marry another woman because his wife does not have sex with him anymore. And you answer yeah; go ahead; and it results in that man committing adultery; and his wife leaving and thus committing adultery. Now you have your hands in their sin. Speaking of sin; a lot of talk about drinking being a sin; we have read in the scriptures and the gospel testimony that many saints knocked back a few drinks in their day. Paul says to drink some wine for your stomach's sake and other needs. It is no sin to drink alcohol; but do not attempt to master it. You will lose and you may commit a grave sin because of it, ask Donte Stallworth about it.
1 Timothy 6
1Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
When you claim yourself to be a servant of God; you must represent at all times. Do not have behavior towards you boss that will make him never want to turn to the God you serve. Do you not think you will be held responsible for that soul?
The Prosperity Gospel Must Slow Down and Wither Away
5Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
It is a corrupt mind famished of truth will think that the richer you are the more godly you are. These type of people Paul says remove yourself from. Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Rockefeller, Huge Hefner, and many other rich men and women never ever utter the word God and wouldn't listen to you about God for more than 2 seconds. Is their gain in riches and their prosperity Godly?
Godliness is being content with what you have; that is the great gain. We were born with nothing; so it is okay that we will leave with nothing. While we're here; if we have food to eat and clothing on our bodies, it is enough for us to be very grateful.
10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
There are a few people that outwardly tell people they love money; but everyone else chasing a few dollars say it in their actions. People digging graves to make extra money say they love money; a billionaire going for 2 billion let's us know he loves money. Money is not evil; the love of money is; so careful not to love it.
14That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
15Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
Paul tells Timothy and us to keep the commandment without spot until the Lord returns. It is popularly thought to stop when He was put on the cross. When the Lord returns it is then that God will show us who is blessed and is the only being who possesses great power, and is a King above kings.
A Message to the Rich
17Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
18That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
2 Timothy 1
2To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
Paul after his greeting encourages us to stay in faith
13Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 2
6The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. 7Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
Husbandmen, who are preachers, that work for the Lord must be the first partakers of the fruits, that is of keeping the ways of the Lord. They cannot just be teachers; but are sinning like crazy on the side in the dark. Paul ask us to consider what he is saying here; and to allow the Lord to give us understanding in all things. As we have read the bible for the last 84 days; we've come to better understanding of many scriptures.
How do you get good understanding? Not just by reading the bible, but studying it to gain understanding.
15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
We must carefully divide the scripture so we truly understand what they are saying to us.
2 Timothy 3
1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
We read this and know we are in the last times or days. Take a look at all the negative traits the world will take on in the last days; but they will have a form of godliness; but really they are denying God; we must recognize these type of people and turn away from them. Having a form of godliness are people who have some spirituality; preachers, church goers, priest, different faiths, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, who all claim to have knowledge of God; but primarily the leaders who teach of the God of this bible are the form of godliness we are speaking of.
These men creep into people houses and captivate "silly" women who are loaded with sins and take them away these women with their lust. The people who have a form of godliness are always trying to learn the truth; but are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth in His word. Just like those who fought against Moses; they resist the truth having a corrupt mind and are basically reprobate concerning the faith of God (v6-8).
12Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Know that if you serve Jesus as it is commanded to serve Him according to the bible; you will suffer persecution because it is what the scripture says. And all scripture is given by the inspiration of God as Paul confirms.
2 Timothy 4
1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
Paul's final warnings to Timothy that he charged before God (1), and the Lord Jesus Christ (2), who will judge the living and dead at His appearing and His kingdom. We just relearned something we saw in the Old Testament that the Lord will have a judgment day after He returns. He does not judge people after they die and send them to their respective places, i.e. heaven or hell.
Paul also tells us to preach the word in season or out of it. It may not be the season for the passover, but we can still teach it. We can remind someone of Jeremiah chapter 10 and it does not have to be December 25th.
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
A time will come will come when people will not enjoy sound doctrine but will want only what they lust after. It will get to a point where they will hire teachers who will teach them what they want to hear and not what God wants them to hear. These preachers will scratch their ears and turn them away from the truth of God and give them fables. We all know what fables are; a man going around the world with flying rain deers and he goes down chimneys that are burning with fire and leaves toys under a tree that is indoors for some reason.
A fable; you know that an Easter bunny will lay eggs that the children hunt after that is suppose to tie into the resurrection of Christ. These are fables that many go along with because they are not thinking of God at all.
Titus 1
1Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
2In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Paul, like us, hopes of eternal life, which God promised before the world ever began, and God is one that cannot lie.
We're to hold fast to sound doctrine and avoid gainsayers (those who preach or speak for money only) but are deceivers. We are not to give head to Jewish fables either, like it is a law to wash your hands before you eat; it is healthy to do so; but it is not a commandment of God.
16They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
The same message to Timothy is being relayed to Titus here.
Titus chapter 2
1But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
Sound doctrine is something that is provable and stands on solid foundation. The scripture is sound, what it says is solid words of God; and not anything else on anyone's mind.
Titus 3
1Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
Philemon 1
3Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost is probably being laughed at by the angels and Jesus and the Father at the amount of times Paul has not acknowledged him.This will conclude our reading today; we will attend day 85 tomorrow. Grace and peace in the name of Jesus Christ.
