Good morning, it's the 50th day of our daily reading and fittingly, it fell on the day after the day of Pentecost or as the Jews called it, the Feast of Weeks. I hope all had a good Holy Day.
We'll be reading today from Isaiah chapter 14 through 28. Let's get started.
Isaiah 14
1For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
God is clearly letting us know that the Jews or the children of Israel have not been cast away, He will bring them back to the land and restore them, and the sons of strangers will also be there with them in Israel.
They will even rule over the people who have held them in captivity today, which are the Gentiles. 3And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
7The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.
In the Psalm, it says they will sing a new song unto the Lord. When the Lord brings back the peacefulness on the earth, with joy the people will have no choice but to break out into singing.
It is going to be so peaceful, this question was asked:
12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Satan said in his heart, that he will go to heaven, he will make his throne above all the angels of God, and he will sit on the mount of the congregation. He wants to go above the clouds, and he wants to be like the Most High God. Two things to point out; God made man in His image, so man is the closest thing to being like God, and Satan wants to be like God.
We got a brief description on how angels look with the six wings, man does not have any wings, so God does not either. So if Satan wants to be like God, but we're like God, it is natural that Satan will hate on us and attempt to destroy us for his pure dislike to serve man.
Second, Satan and the rest of the angels were created, and they were created in Heaven. Satan's desire is to go back to Heaven because that is where he is from. He wants to ascend into the clouds; but we read God's desire to have Jerusalem. So Satan and God have two totally different desires. Who's desire do you want to follow?
God will bring him low into the sides of the pit, and any that choose to follow him!
24The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: The Lord is going to destroy Satan and all his followers. When the Lord makes a thought, it is going to come to pass. Like the book, Think and Grow Rich, tells you to think and make things happen. That is exactly how God does it, just on the Godly level.
Isaiah chapter 15 is a bitter prophesy against Moab. From this reading it appears that this took place during the time the Assyrians or the Babylonians came through and sacked Jerusalem and placed neighboring countries like Moab under there rule.
Isaiah 16
1Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.2For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.
3Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth. You probably would never know it without reading the Bible with understanding, that before the tribulation starts in the last days, the people of God will have the ability to run to the wilderness to escape the havoc going on in the earth. Moab is to offer that protection to the people with enough knowledge to flee to this area.
There Jesus will meet with His church in the wilderness, that is why it said send the lamb to the ruler of the land.
4Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
5And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
The Lord's outcast are His people, the children of Israel. When the Israelites came out of Egypt and into the wilderness in Moses day, the Moabites attempted to curse them, wouldn't help them, but this time the Lord is telling Moab to be a protector for His people or He will deal with them this time. Then the Lord will take over, in mercy His throne will be established.
Isaiah 17
1The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.7At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
Here is a prophecy against Damascus, which is a boarder of Israel, even that they posses. Syria is the country that had it. They are going to have respect for Jesus, the Holy One of Israel in that day.
Isaiah 18
1Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia: This chapter is a prophecy against Ethiopia and the entire world. Hidden in speech it tells us of WW 3 or Armageddon with verses 5 and 6 where He will cut down the branches (these are people) and have animals clean up the dead bodies.7In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.
Strangers when they see all the carnage going on when the Lord returns, they will be bring the children of Israel back as a present to the Lord.
Isaiah 19
1The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it. Egypt has some trouble at the hands of the Lord and He is going to bring some tough conditions on them also.24In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
25Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
At the end, Egypt, Assyria, and Israel will dwell peacefully and all be the work of the Lord.
Isaiah 20
We have Isaiah sending a message to Egypt and Ethiopia that they will be taken out of their land naked and in. When the Lord takes down a country, He will take down any country that steps in the way of His doing.
Isaiah chapter 219And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.
This a decisive and horrible vision that Isaiah saw, and it is the vision of the end of the Gentile rule with the terrible war of Armageddon. The nation of Edom, and Arabs as well will see harsh destruction from the Lord in that day.
Isaiah 22
This chapter outlined a lot of destruction and perplexity. I did not see the day of the Lord or any names of countries outside of Elam who the Lord was using to hurt. The Lord sure did show Isaiah visions not just of Israel and Judah, but also other nations and the day of the Lord.Isaiah 23
1The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them. Tyre is now getting their burden or prophecy.17And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth. What nation commits fornication with all the kingdoms of the world?
Isaiah 24
5The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
6Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. The Lord is going to make the earth empty and a waste. Everyone will get the same compensation no matter if they are a priest or servant. Because of sin in the world, and sin brought in death, the earth is mourning and is fading away and the people as well. The earth is defiled because the people have broken the laws, changed God's ordinances, and broken the everlasting covenant.
God never intended for men to die but men are languished because of sinful behavior and when it's all said and done, their will be few men left. As Jesus said, wide is the road to destruction and narrow is the gate that leads to life, and very few that see will make it. Many will die because of broken laws, changed ordinances, and broken covenants.
16From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.
17Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth. We are seeing this in the earth right now; men dealing treacherously with each other, surprisingly it is the money masters, the wealthy and powerful of the world that are causing all of the damage.
23Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
Isaiah chapter 25
8He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
These are things Paul wrote, and John wrote in Revelations about God wiping away all tears when New Jerusalem comes down, and Paul telling us death is swallowed up in victory by the Lord. This is all written in the old book, and confirmed in the new book.
Isaiah chapter 26
4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: Notice, the name of God in the Old Testament has been Jehovah, which is Yahweh, even Jah. These are all names that Jesus went under before He came in His Father's name in the New Testament.
In this chapter, which is prayer to God in certain verses, the unrighteous are unable to do right. They cannot be just, because there is no righteousness in them. If you know people that cannot do right no matter what, it is because there is no righteousness in them. I knew a guy in the past who we called "Do Wrong" because all he could do was wrong.
Reading on we are about to bear witness to the resurrection of the dead here in Isaiah. 19Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
God's dead, those who died in Christ, they shall live together with the author (when he died), and they shall both arise. Wake up and sing for joy all that dwell in the dust. It did not say "wake up and sing all that dwell in heaven smiling down on your love ones you cannot do anything about." It told them to come out of the dust of the earth; because the earth will cast out the dead; at the return of Christ.
20Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. The Lord hides His saints in the ground by giving them the sleep of death, perfect peaceful sleep. And they will awake from it like it was a short nap, until his indignation past. God is actually doing them a favor. Why is that a favor?
21For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. Because the great tribulation, the war of Armageddon, and all the other carnage God is bringing is going to be very terrible to witness and go through. It would be best to be dead or in the place of safety. God is certainly going to punish the people of the earth for their sin.
Isaiah 27
1In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.The Lord is going to set in order everything during the thousand year millennium reign on earth. During that actual sabbath day, He will punish that crooked serpent, which is Satan, and restore Jacob to His land and office.
He punished ISRAEL hard because they had no understanding so He showed no mercy. This is why we are reading the Bible with understanding now, so we can be shown mercy as we learn to do the Lord's will.
Now, when Jesus returns He will beat off from the channel of the river to the stream of Egypt, and gathered the children of Israel, one by one. In that day, the great trumpet will be blown that is the 7th trumpet, and all Israel that were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, will come and worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem. No man can fly so this certainly is not talking in heaven, so the Lord will be in Jerusalem (on the earth) as He has long time desired.
This is the beauty of reading the bible, and reading with understanding.
Isaiah chapter 28
This chapter will tell of Jesus and what He will do; but before He can get there He points out through the prophet Isaiah, why His people have gone wrong.
7But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
8For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
The people have erred through wine and strong drinks like patron. This is where drinking probably became a sin to many parts of Christianity, but we are not talking a literal drunkenness here. The priest and the prophet have made the error as well by becoming drunk and have stumbled in judgment and their tables are full of vomit.
Because all tables are full of vomit or in more modern day talk, all religions and all churches are full of vomit, and are filthy, so who can God teach the Word of God to if they are all drunk?
9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Who will they teach knowledge to, and make understand good doctrine are those who are humble like a child and weaned from the breast. The open their mouth to learn by reading the Word of God.. Although we are reading straight through in this project, we are still making reference here and there, making the correlation of passages.
At the time the bible was written in it's original form by the seers of these great prophets, it was written in Hebrew. But God said with stammering lips and another language (tongue) will He speak to this people. That wards out Hebrew as the only language to learn and perform God's Word. You can receive it in any country and language you are in.
14Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
The Lord is speaking the preachers, priest, and prophets, and any one who considers them self a teacher or representative of God to the people in Jerusalem.
15Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
Because they decided to serve other gods, and not keep the Lord's commandments, which is like making an agreement with death and hell, and have made lies their safe haven, the Lord is going to stop that.
18And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
The covenant with death that Israel made, the Lord is going to dismantle and not stand, God will force you to keep His commandments. He will force you to live. I suggest we all listen and take heed from God; because what comes from the Lord is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working. PRAISE YE THE LORD.
This will end our reading for today. We will reconvene tomorrow.
Peace & Grace
