Bible Food Day 49
Good morning, we are moving into the prophetic books and it will be a bit of a harder read; however, I think since we have the foundation of the books of Moses, and the chronicles of what took place in the governments of Israel, then we can focus now on prophets that were sent to counsel the kings and also see that the prophetically took us beyond our time today. Let us begin in Isaiah chapter 1
Isaiah 1
Isaiah had these visions concerning Judah and Jerusalem and he lived and prophesied during the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, the kings of Judah.
=
First thing is that God speaks of Israel as children He has nourished, but they have rebelled against Him. The animals know their owner, and do what it says, but God's own people do not and they do not even consider it. To get the truth of the matter, Israel was called by God, a sinful nation, people loaded with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, corrupter's, for-saker's of God, and they have provoked the Holy One of Israel to anger by them going backwards.
He cannot even punish them anymore, they are sick, the whole heart is faint, yet no one is considering it, even in this day that we are reading the bible.
=
7Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
9Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
Israel is desolate and strangers are in it, even until today, and if God did not leave a small amount of people when He took them out by the hands of Babylon and Assyria, Israel would have been destroyed as Sodom and Gomorrah was. All because, as we've read the kings and priest did not steer the people into serving God wholly.
The Lord got tired of their fake feast and other celebrations and ask everyone a solid question, what is your sacrifice to me if you do not obey? 15And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. He even will ignore your bloody handed prayers. Israel has definitely got on the wrong side of the Lord.
16Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 19If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
God has been telling this to man since the garden of Eden. Eventually, the Lord will root out the evil doers, and reestablish Jerusalem and Israel as a city of righteousness, and a people of peace.
Isaiah 2
4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. Isaiah got a vision concerning the last days, even beyond us today. The mountain of the Lord will be established above all other mountains and hills, and all nations will go up to the Lord's mountain. Mountain in the bible refers also to governments. So the Lord's government will be the top government in the earth when He establishes it.
At this time people will go up to Jerusalem and say, let us let the Lord teach us His ways and walk in His paths; because out of Jerusalem will the laws of the world go out of, and the Word of GOD from there also. This is after the big world war, WW III also known as Armageddon, after this no nation will want to war anymore because God is going to lean in on this war. I can't tell you from personal experience, but fighting against a being that doesn't die can get tiresome and difficult.
12For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: The day of the Lord is confusingly thought to be Sunday. That would make this verse very confusing, that Sunday will be on the proud and on Sunday all that are proud will be brought low.
The day of the Lord is the day in which Jesus will return to this earth and have a 1,000 years of peace on this earth, which is a day with the Lord, which is the 7th day, which is the Sabbath day.
20In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
21To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
When the Lord returns, He will terribly shake the earth up. Like when new ownership comes to a company or team, and they shake the team up with trades, firing people, lay offs, bringing in of new management, and if the old people refuse to leave, bringing in security to root them out, even violently. This is what the Lord is going to do when He returns to the earth.
Isaiah 3
The Lord is telling us through Isaiah here that He taking away the glory of Israel, their mighty men, their prophet, their ancient, their wise judges, and all their good things. People will constantly oppress them, and they will war against each other constantly, kids will not respect their parents, and the young folks will have not care in the honorable or old folks. Take a peek into your community and see if this is happening or has happened in your community?
If it has, it was sent by the Lord.
6When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
7In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
This is profound, Israel will take someone who has cloths or nice cloths and tell them to rule over this people. And that person will take the position to be esteem, but he will not heal the people nor rule over them, he will just buy more cloths. In other words, he will simply feed himself; but he will not heal the people.
12As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
The Lord's people are oppressed by children, and women rule over them. In a man's world this is rough. Israel, the priest of the Lord are being oppressed by people they were sent to teach. How can a nation progress that is ruled by women and children. Families barely make it like that.
The women of Israel love to look good, dress well, be flirtatious, dress to urge up the lust in a man, shake their booties, look too good to be touched or approached, and only think of material things. 19The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
20The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
21The rings, and nose jewels,
22The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
23The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
The Lord will take it all away - 26And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
The children of Israel had it bad, and are having it bad, and it will get worse before it get's better.
Isaiah 4
1And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
In chapter four we are talk after that period when it got worse, then the Lord will make it better. Sometimes, things have to get bad for it to get anyone's attention. And the Lord is simply trying to get our attentions. And He will in the war of Armageddon, because He would have killed some many men, that it will be legalized for seven women to marry one man because of the scarcity of men after the war.
The women will support themselves, they just don't want the embarrassment of not being married and also with needs that women still have, she'll take a man to fulfill it instead of risking committing adultery while Jesus is right here on the earth. The Lord will treat all of the children of Israel that survive well in that day.
When the Lord will have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and have purged the blood of Jerusalem by the spirit of His judgment, and by the spirit of burning, then will they stay in the land in peace.
5And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. You see He will also bring back His dwelling ways, in the cloud of smoke during the day, and a pillar of fire by nigh as He did during the days of Moses and Aaron.
Isaiah 5
1Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill: We are visiting this vineyard, and the well beloved, and the poetry and singing and love story. Let's get some details on it.
God gave this vineyard the best of everything, protection, statutes, laws, commandments, riches, wisdom, and looked for it to deliver grapes or good people, but instead it brought wild grapes or wild people. The Lord was puzzled wondering what else could He have done for these people to be satisfied with obeying Him?
Because it brought wild grapes, or wild people, He proposed to tear it down. And we saw that in Assyria and Babylon, Jerusalem was torn to the ground. God took away the fence of protection and let anyone who wanted to come in there go on in and take what they wanted.
Who is this vineyard plainly put? 7For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry. The bible tells us that it is the house of Israel, that is why I said that in Psalms and in Songs of Songs because I have read this already. Knowing this will blow you away when you see Jesus show up in the flesh later on in the gospels.
13Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
Israel, the nation, love to sing, dance, play the instruments, and have a ball as a choir; but in all of that they do not regard the work of the Lord, nor consider any operations that He does. That is why Assyria and Babylon took them down, not because they were not strong, but because they had absolutely no knowledge. And still till this day have no knowledge of God; and I can say this boldly because the world has no real knowledge of God because Israel the priest has not been able to teach because they have no knowledge.
You cannot teach something that you do not know. The wise men have no knowledge, the old men and honorable men have no knowledge and hellish situations fall on them constantly.
The Lord gives a lot of warnings for justifying the wicked and evil treating the righteous, those people will be devoured because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. It will be harsh on this people for a long time, and it all will come from the Lord.
Isaiah 6 When Uzziah king of Judah died, Isaiah had a vision where he saw the Lord sitting on a throne and His company filled the temple. He had seraphims (big special angels) with Him who had six wings, covering his face with two, his feet with two, and used the last two to fly. We are getting a brief description of how an angel looks. Do not get scared and run out of the room just yet.
We gather that this is in the future because the angel said the whole earth is full of God's glory. When He returns, the earth will be full of His glory for sure, but not now. 8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
The Lord was preparing to send Isaiah to teach, warn, and prophesied to the children of Israel to get their act together before God decides to throw them out the land. This chapter goes back during the days of the kings of Judah and God is giving them warning from prophets like Isaiah.
These prophets pretty much went in only to be witness against the people because God told Isaiah to speak to people who will not understand nor will they hear because they do not want to hear the Words of God so that they can be healed and saved from destruction.
Isaiah 7 Here in chapter seven, Samaria (also called Ephraim) decides to partner up with Syria to war against Judah. We read this in the chronicles and kings, but we get more insight here as it is told by a prophet who lived during that time. Isaiah was told to go meet with Ahaz, king of Judah, along with Isaiah's son Shearjashub (what a name, I want that for my son, anyway), to give him the Word of the Lord concerning this war.
7Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. 8For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.
The Lord said it will not happen, because he will defend Judah and also, in 65 years Samaria will be taken out and not be a people anymore. We know they were taken out by the Assyrians.
14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Ahaz was not necessarily a good king, but I guess worser people were coming up to attack him and the Lord protected the better of the evils. Ahaz did a lot of pagan worship and God asked Him to request a sign. Ahaz refused to tempt God, but God gave him one anyway. Here we get the prophesy of a virgin who will conceive and bear a son, and call His name Immanuel, meaning, God with us. This is an Old Testament prophecy that was fulfilled in the days of Jesus, for it was a prophecy of Him.
The chapter ends with the prophecy of Assyria taking out the ten tribes. Only if people would listen to the prophets, they would be fine because the prophets talk from God.
Isaiah 8
1Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz. More prophecy about Syria going down and Samaria as well by the hand of Assyria.
6Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son; Samaria refused the waters of Shiloah, this is the Word of God, and instead wanted the pagan god, Rezin.
9Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
No matter what, they will be broken in pieces by the Assyrians, this is for their sin, and it's from the Lord.
In verse 13 and 14, it says set the Lord of host apart, and fear and dread Him, talking of Jesus. And when this is done, He will be a sanctuary to those who trust in Him and believe on His name; but He will be a stumbling block and an offense to both houses of Israel. Do the Jewish people today believe in Jesus?
Very important verses in this chapter - 18Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
19And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
20To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
In eighteen, Jesus speaking says, the children that the Father has given me, and Himself as well, will be for signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord who dwells in Mt. Zion.
Verse nineteen, God ask people and Israel; should not a people seek God instead of going to psychics. And then verse twenty, the word of God is given to both the law and the testimony, the law (Old Testament) and the testimony (New Testament). If people don't speak according to both of these it is because there is no light in them. In other words, there is no truth in such a person.
Isaiah chapter 9
Chapter 8 ended in the Lord bringing dimness in the word of God and knowledge of God in the land of Israel. So with people living in darkness and anguish and violence, He will bring a great light to them.
2The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
What is this great light that God is sending them?
6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
8The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
Jesus, because this child is certainly not Isaiah nor Isaiah's son. It is Jesus Christ. Important verses:
14Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.
15The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
16For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
Still the Lord, although He has sent this great light, He is not backing away from their punishment and will cut off the head and tail of Israel in one day. The ancient and honorable is the head, and the prophet and preachers that teach lies is the tail.
With a warning in the bible that a prophet and teacher will teach lies, it can make us look at our preachers and teachers with a suspecting eye. But by reading the bible daily and getting the bible food we need in learning God's ways for ourselves, we will be able to distinguish true and false.
Israel as a nation, as a people, were and are destroyed because of their leaders. Their leaders cause them to error against God. Is it Benjamin Netanyahu who causes them to error today, is it the chief rabbis? You first have to look to a people destroyed and then you can look at their leaders and see the nation of Israel.
21Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. The children of Israel will be constantly fighting against each other because the Lord is still going to make them pay for breaking His covenant. They will be fuel for the fire, and still the Lord will not back His hand off from punishment. They will be against each other like black on black crime in America, like Palestinians against Israelis, like Sunni verse Shiites; all because the breaking of the commandments.
Isaiah chapter 10
21The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
22For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. This is about the destruction of Israel. When the Lord performs this, only a few will remain. Many will be killed, and the rest scattered into different countries as slaves, and of those who survive the scattering into other countries around the world; only a remnant or few of those will return. This is a great punish Israel is taking, and other nations should be wise to learn from their mistakes.
That is why reading this bible daily is so important, to learn from where others made their folly and to avoid doing the same. If Israel got beat up for not keeping the commandments, if I'm Japanese or from Kuwait, I'm keeping the commandments in Exodus chapter 20.
The beating up by Assyria will not be forever nor that long as in the days in Egypt and when it's over things will be much better. So keep faith and take your punishment like a man, and repent being patient for the deliverer.
Isaiah 11
1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
The rod out of the stem of Jesse is Jesus, and the spirit of God will rest on Him. The Father is going to give it all to Jesus.
6The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
When Jesus returns and gathers all of the children of Israel back to the land and is on the earth for a thousand years of peace, real peace will be on the earth even between the animals and man.
Also in that day Jesus will be for an ensign of the people; to Him the Gentiles will seek: and His rest shall be glorious. And in that day, the Lord will set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
Did you know the Lord has people, children of Israel in all of these countries in the land of Ham (Africa). That is why Ethiopian Jews have popped up years back and know themselves to be from the tribe of Dan. Nigerian Jews have come up knowing themselves to be from multiple tribes of Gad, Manasseh, and so on because so many of them are hidden in the continent of Africa. And God is going to recover them all.
12And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Verse 14-16 lays out further details of what will take place upon the return of the Lord and the return of the children of Israel, which includes making the children of Edom, Moab, and Ammon listen to them; and drying a river up for the people to return. This has not happened yet.
Isaiah 12
1And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
2Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
When all of this happens, we are going to be happy, everyone on the earth will be happy, especially the children of Israel.
We see that they will say the "Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song, He also is become my salvation." Jesus in the Old Testament here is known as Jehovah, in the new book, which we will read later, He came in His Father's name, which is Jesus (making Him what we call a junior). And it is fact, that because He died and rose, He has become our salvation.
And Jesus will dwell in Jerusalem, yes, the Holy One of Israel will be on the earth.
Isaiah 13
1The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
Isaiah sees a vision and it is the burden of Babylon. Verse six informs us that it is the day of the Lord, so this is Armageddon Isaiah is writing about. 6Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
The day of the LORD is coming and it is cruel with both wrath and fierce anger, destroying the sinners out of it.
10For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
That is fewer or rarer than gold, based on how many He will kill on the day of the Lord. That is the main reason why 7 women will marry one man.
13Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger. It will definitely be a earth shaking day and an event no one on the earth will forget. Take a look at some of the things that will happen, especially in the middle east during this war:
14And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land. People will flee and go back to the country they originated because of the lack of trust in these days. A German will go back to Germany, the Irish will return to Ireland.
15Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. There will be no prisoners of war, and no saving civilians in the countries that they invade. All who are found will be killed right there.
16Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished. They will kill children and dash them to pieces right before the eyes of their parents, and will rape women right in from of their husbands before they kill the husband. Who is going to do all of this? Why and when? It's the war of Armageddon.
17Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. The Medes are the Russians, they are the ones who will do this, and they are sent by the Lord, all to get the attention of the people in the world.
18Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children. They are not taking money, and they are not taking any pity, they will kill new born babies like they are fighting against a mighty man.
19And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. When the Lord is finished with this modern day Babylon, they will be burnt down like Sodom and Gomorrah and it will never be built again.
This concludes today's reading. It may leave you with a bad dream; but don't fear, it is all good news to those who fear the Lord and keep His commandments. Praise ye the Lord.
Peace & Grace
